Project: Reconstruction - Setting Description

There's this story which I've been wanting to write for so long (maybe for 3 years!) but I haven't got around to actually writing the majority of it. Only small snippets, whenever I get in the mood (which I mostly enter whenever I read another far more superior novel). It kind of goes without saying, it's because when I do try to write it, by my conscious decision, the results point to me...being something of a potato at writing. Thus, here I'll try to make clear for myself (and the readers happening to visit) what kind of world I am writing my semi-speculative fiction novel in.

(updates may follow)

In this novel, the world is in ruins. A worldwide war had just taken place. It's been 10 years, but the state of the Earth is still catching on. The food distribution had to be regulated or famine may occur. In some cases failure of water filters caused hospitalizing and death. People are warned of storms in advance to avoid small radioactive particles (and then some) from barraging them with the winds in the dead open. And the atmosphere...well...let's just say the protective fields are more than a mere safekeeping. Researchers are about as blind at tackling the situation as when the first tenth or eleventh miner mysteriously died due to smoke inhalation.

All of this, and humanity's main concern is on salvaging the remains of what they were in the past; long ago before the war. Well, some of them.

Why is that? Well, I don't know for sure. Desire to reclaim what was lost? Inclination to honour their predecessors? Frustration at not knowing what laid behind? A drive to discover...why?

...Oh, by the way, this story is going to be in Indonesian. Yes, I know, language barriers and all that. I might write an English version, if I ever go around to it. Just to highlight how different writing in two languages can be.

Thanks for reading! Cya! <3
