Sunlight and Leaves
Yellow and green The colour of sunlight upon the leaves Swaying in the winds, whispering young dreams, An odd, eternal picture-perfect feel Yellow of a leaf Drifting down from a brittle old tree Lone and lost, caught in the bitter winter breeze To meet its brethren at the somber sky's feet Perhaps this is why I look upon the dancing sunlight and leaves in melancholy We are as mayflies in the flow of time, that old statement hold true But as transient as the trees through winter and spring, such facet we hold too.
